It’s been an up and down start to the 2023 season for Sam Howell. He threw for 202 yards (1 TD / 1 INT) in Week 1 and followed that up with 299 yards and 2 TDs in Week 2. In Week 3 he had just 170 yards and 4 INTs, and then last week he threw for 290 and one score.

The trend would say Howell is due for another poorer showing. But against the Bears as 6-point favorites in the Bears vs Commander odds, he could have the perfect opponent to put up back-to-back strong games.

Chicago is 0-4 and have given up 38, 27, 41 and 31 points, adding up to them giving up the second-most points per game 34.3, the sixth-most yards per game at 383.3 and the fourth-most passing yards per game at 267.8. They’ve also allowed the second-most passing touchdowns.

Add in the fact that both Jaylon Johnson and Eddie Jackson are out in the secondary in the Bears vs Commanders injury report, and Howell has a chance to put up some numbers in our TNF SGP picks.

The Bears aren’t great versus the run either, but are at least 18th, which is better than Washington who are 21st.

That didn’t stop the Broncos from putting up 97 yards last week, led by Jaleel McLaughlin with 72. KC’s top rusher Isiah Pacheco had 62 yards the week prior, Rashad White had 73 before that and Aaron Jones 41 in Week 1.

There’s every reason to think Brian Robinson Jr can put up some similar numbers. It’s something he’s done in every game this season finishing with 59, 87, 70 and 45 rushing yards.

In fact, he may not just be a good bet for rushing props, for also in TD props, when you consider the Bears have allowed the second-most touchdowns to running backs (rushing and receiving) this season.

The Bears have given up 19 catches to opposing tight ends, which is the third-most behind the Bucs and Lions.

So that could be good for Commanders’ TE Logan Thomas. However, he hasn’t seen a ton of targets of late. He caught four of eight passes versus Arizona, 2/3 versus Denver and 3/3 last week versus Philadelphia.

Still, he’s gone over 40 yards receiving in two of three games and would’ve just come up three yards short of 25 in the other. In a game where Howell should be able to throw it around to all of his receivers, let’s take Thomas to to hit 25+ yards in our Bears vs Commanders same game parlay picks.

The Commanders only rank 20th in passing yards allowed and while the Bears’ losing streak may continue here, the streak of WR DJ Moore hitting 25 or more receiving yards could also extend. Let’s include one Bear for our Bears vs Commanders props in this SGP.

Moore had eight catches for 131 yards and a score last week versus the Broncos and his other totals have been 41, 104 and 25.
