Mid-table Bologna will hope to make home advantage count in Serie A on Monday evening when they face Cremonese, who have yet to win in Serie A all season.

Thiago Motta’s side are currently 11th in the table and have had a mixed season but at least  look like they will stay clear of any relegation danger.

They are 10 points above Hellas Verona, who occupy 18th spot, and will seek to earn a top-half position in the second half of this season.

Cremonese’s season has been a footballing disaster though they had a rare moment of positivity after beating Serie A leaders Napoli on penalties in the Coppa Italia during the week.

The club parted company with Massimiliano Alvini in the wake of their 3-2 defeat at home to Monza last Saturday and the experienced 59-year-old, Davide Ballardini, already looks to have had an impact on things.

Bologna vs Cremonese Betting Tips

Team news

Bologna have a spate of injury problems right now and boss Motta decided to rest key players for their Coppa Italia round-of-16 loss to Lazio during the week.

Nicola Sansone, Kevin Bonifazi, Gary Medel, and Lorenzo De Silvestri are all ruled out due to various problems, while forward Marko Arnautovic is a major doubt due to a foot problem.

Joshua Zirkzee or Musa Barrow could deputise up front instead while Nicolas Dominguez could return to the midfield following suspension.

Cremonese have defender Leonardo Sernicola back available following his ban that forced him to miss the Monza game last weekend. The red card he was given against Napoli in midweek is only applicable to future Coppa Italia games.

Veteran defender Vlad Chiriches misses out with injury but otherwise, a fully-fit squad is available.

Latest Bologna vs Cremonese Betfred Odds

Draw @ 21/10

Neither team arrive into this fixture in particularly good shape. While Bologna have picked up four of their six league wins at home this season, they will be entering this game without some of their key attacking threats who carried them to victory.

They were beaten 1-0 by Lazio during the week and have lost four of their last six games across all competitions.

Bologna haven’t drawn any of their last nine games but they are coming up against a side who have drawn seven of their 18 Serie A matches this season, while they drew against Napoli in the cup in midweek.

Cremonese simply haven’t been able to get over the line yet in the league, although their shock cup triumph at Napoli could provide some kind of impetus against injury-hit Bologna.

Under 1.5 goals @ 9/4

Cremonese have fired blanks in six of their last eight league games and their big issue this season has been in attack – they have netted only 13 goals in 18 league games this season.

Bologna have a rickety defence but Cremonese do not have the personnel it seems to take advantage so a low-scoring game may be inevitable.

With Sansone and Arnatovic likely to miss the game, the hosts will be relying on second-string attackers.

Zirkzee has scored only once this season while Barrow has just two goals to his name.
