Global Gaming Gets Licensed in Sweden
A few days ago, the subsidiary of Global Gaming, called SafeEnt Ltd., received a new license from the Swedish Gambling Authority. This is a casino and sportsbook license that lasts for five years. Despite a long and stressful application process…
…Global Gaming and its subsidiary are thrilled with the result! They are among the first providers who get licensed in Sweden and more are expected to join in the near future.
What did they have to say?
Head of Compliance, Linda Kärrholt, commented: “We were one of the first operators to submit a licence application on August 1st 2018, the first available day, and are proud to announce that all the hard work put in by our team has paid off.”
“We are thankful for this seal of approval,” said CEO, Joacim Möller…
“It not only signals their approval of our business model but also gives us an opportunity to continue focusing on our largest market.”
Global Gaming keeps acquiring licenses and this is yet another one in their collection. They have recently been granted with two licenses by:
- Malta Gaming Authority
- Estonian Tax and Customs Board
After reaching the regulated market in Sweden, the company is going to pursue their opportunities in the other markets as well. What’s the next country they will target?
New Licenses in Sweden
There have been some major changes in the country…
…as it has launched new online gambling licenses!
As it turns out, a large number of companies have applied and there has been a several-month waiting process until the first group of companies received the news.
Many companies had reasons to celebrate at the end of last week with some of the big and familiar names such as Bet365, Casumo, GVC Holdings and its subsidiary etc. However, not all of the providers received a 5-year license. Some got the approval for two years only due to…
…making mistakes in the past and paying fines for misleading advertisements and bonus offers. The Swedish regulatory body said that they will make their decision based on an individual case!
Among the first companies that earned the license in Sweden was Kindred Group. They were delighted to be among the pioneers to enter the regulated market in this Scandinavian country. With their target audience expanded, they hope to see a boost in numbers.
“Today is a historic day for Kindred. We have been pushing for a modern and sustainable gambling market in Sweden from the very start of Unibet in 1997, in which the focus is on consumer protection and harm minimization,” explained Henrik Tjärnström, CEO of Kindred Group.
In previous months, Sweden has been re-regulating the gambling market and the process was time-consuming and tiring. However, everything is now set for the brands, providers and supplier to offer their content to the people. Moreover, the people will find the new system much easier to use.
One thing is for sure – with Global receiving the new license, the nation will have more choices when it comes to gaming.
