Every millisecond in the Olympic Games since 1932 has been time-kept by Omega – Every stride, sprint, and moment of wonder has been witnessed and recorded by an Omega. Documenting history made through the decades, it’s almost poetic that the brand has become a part of the Game’s legacy – cementing its name against every new record achieved and moment of triumph. Being the first commercial watchmaker to bear such an honour, this edition of the Olympic Games will mark OMEGA’s 31st time as an Official Timekeeper. What began with a nifty 30 split-second chronograph nearly 90 years ago has grown into a mega-chronometer toolkit comprising of machinery weighing a hefty 450 tons, mastering the art of millisecond-accurate timekeeping.

More so, Omega has been celebrating this essence of Olympic chronometry on-and-off-track, with special edition commemorative timepieces right since the Melbourne Games 2006’s Seamaster XVI. As we countdown to Paris 2024, Omega unveils yet another Olympic novelty – the Seamaster Diver 300M “Paris 2024” Special Edition enriched with a bezel-full of 18K Moonshine™ Gold – Omega’s very own yellow gold alloy.

Seamaster Diver 300M offers a sporty design in white, gold, and black following the official Olympic colour chart.

The all-new Seamaster Diver 300M “Paris 2024” is a luxurious iteration of the brand’s coveted classic, designed to evoke winning gold every Olympic athlete strives for. Measuring in at 42 mm in width and 13.7 mm in thickness, it receives the standard Seamaster 50 mm lug-to-lug measurement. The timepiece is crafted out of stainless steel and 18K Moonshine™ Gold which offers a distinct contrast and high resistance to fading. On this bezel, we also see a single dot of Super-LumiNova at 12 o’clock. The dial too, comes with its own eye-catching elegance. Also present, is a stainless-steel helium escape valve at 10 o’clock. Cut out of white ceramic, it receives a matte finish contrasted with polished waves – signature Seamaster. We see a date window at six o’clock which boasts an interesting Paris 2023 accent – the typography inscribed in black is the official font of the upcoming Olympic Games. Furthermore, the central seconds hand carries a tiny yet prominent Paris 2024 emblem which replaces the usual luminous marker. The indexes and hands match the bezel and are done 18K Moonshine™ Gold, creating a nifty 3D effect against the white ceramic dial.

As you flip the timepiece over to its caseback, you’ll be greeted by an absolute Olympic exhibition – there’s the official logo of ‘Paris 2024’ along with the 5 timeless rings of the Olympics which are polished on a frosted structure. The commemorative caseback also reveals an inlayed 18K Moonshine™ Gold medallion which sits polished against a laser-ablated background.

Powering this Seamaster Diver 300M, is Omega’s classic in-house, METAS-certified (Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology) Master Chronometer caliber 8800, which meets quality and precision of the utmost of grades. The movement winds automatically and promises 55 hours of power reserve.

It also boasts a co-axial escapement producing 25,200 beats per hour and uses a silicon hairspring which is anti-magnetic up to 15,000 gauss. It uses 35 jewels and is capable of diving to depths of 300 meters. All of this is strapped on with a Stainless-steel bracelet, with Omega’s new patented Quick Change System. This allows the wearer to effortlessly switch to a rubber strap ranging in hues of blue, white, or red, or even a dedicated Paris 2024 NATO Strap.

On July 26th of next year, the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will officially open. The world’s top athletes’ aspirations have been captured by OMEGA for more than 90 years as the Official Timekeeper, as well as the development and improvement of the most crucial sports measuring technology.
