The Faeries Oracle // Thoughts and Inspirations // by Brian Froud and Jessica Macbeth

The Faeries Oracle by Brian Froud and Jessica Macbeth is one of the most colorful, animated and intricately designed decks on the market today.

On top of this, it accurately portrays the world of the Faeries which is a positive, negative, neutral, multifaceted world that mirrors nature and the ups and downs of natural life.

Many decks are serious, somber, and even sad, and while this deck includes those aspects of life, thanks to the book that comes with the pack, this set of cards make you laugh. Descriptions of the cards in the book provide a paradoxical look at any situation you may be facing, making perhaps my favorite part of this deck the book itself.

This deck includes five different groups of guidance cards (pictured below):

  • The Singers of the Realms

  • The Sidhe

  • Faery Guides and Guardians

  • The Help-Line Troupe

  • The Faery Challengers

Also, this deck features these components:

  • A 66-card set

  • A 205-page book

  • A protective box for the set

In addition to having beautiful art and a philosophical book that can stand alone, understanding the positive, negative or neutral aspects of a situation is one of the things this deck excels in.

How I would use this deck:

I’ve found that if you’re going through a complicated series of challenges in life, this deck works when all other oracles and tarot decks give you reversals. So I would suggest trying this deck before giving up on readings for the day, or when working with a client who has a difficult time seeing the paradox in a situation. Sometimes seeing all sides of a coin is the best way out of a bind, and I think this deck and the insight it provides offers many ways out of any predicament.

To purchase The Faeries Oracle, visit Amazon.com, where it’s currently available for an excellent price. The illustrator of this deck, also designed a movie, called The Dark Crystal, which is like a Muppets go on a metaphysical adventure movie, and this also gives you a laugh.

To watch The Dark Crystal, you can also find it on Amazon Prime, where at current writing it is included in prime membership.
