UK and Irish Racing – Thursday October 14
There are six meetings on the agenda on Thursday afternoon, with four cards to come from the UK and two from Ireland.
Thursday’s opening meeting comes from Somerset, as Wincanton hosts six races from 13:15 until 16:05. The going is good to firm, and Betfred’s “Free Bet if 2nd” promotion is available in the finale.
Punters can earn a free bet up to £10, should their selection finish second and Christian Williams’ Jony Max (9/4) is one to consider after he finished second at Windsor last time out.
Carlisle’s card soon follows and the going is good for their eight-race meeting, which runs between 13:23 and 17:20. Betfred’s “Free Bet if 2nd” promotion is available in the Racing TV Handicap at 15:40 and Strong Team (9/2) looks to be on a fair mark after a recent third-place finish.
Brighton will host a seven-race card on the south coast, with the going good to firm for their meeting.
The first contest is at 14:10, a race covered by Betfred’s “Free Bet if 2nd” promotion, while there are two “Extra Place” races, with both the 16:30 and 17:05 paying an extra place. Brighton’s card comes to a conclusion at 17:40, just after Chelmsford’s meeting gets underway.
Chelmsford’s opening race goes off at 17:30 and the going is standard on the polytrack surface. Betfred’s “Free Bet if 2nd” promotion is available at 19:00, while the “Extra Place” promo covers the final two races at 20:00 and 20:30.
Zefferino (4/1) finished second in his last outing and Martin Bosley’s charge could give punters a run for their money.
The Curragh and Tramore provide the entertainment in Ireland, with racing at the former starting at 12:40 until 16:35. Betfred have punters covered throughout the day, with the “Free Bet if 2nd” promotion running at 14:15, while there is an “Extra Place” available in four consecutive contests from 14:50 until 16:35.
The going is yielding at the Curragh, while it is good (yielding in places) at Tramore, which hosts seven afternoon races. Betfred’s “Extra Place” promo is available at 13:30, while there are four places up for grabs in a handicap hurdle contest at 14:37.
