College Football Week 1 Parlay Picks

In our Week 1 college football parlay for Saturday, we’re taking two home favorites with great value to win outright, plus a military school playing on the road with a notable matchup edge. Parlaying these three college football teams together gives us +102 odds at DraftKings.

Army vs Louisiana Monroe

Kicking off our Week 1 college football parlay is a play on Army in their matchup with Louisiana Monroe. The Black Knights are 2-0 all-time in games against the Warhawks and should rely on their key strengths to take care of an inferior opponent.

Army had one of the best rushing attacks in college football last season, averaging 289.4 yards per game on the ground. The Warhawks had the third-worst rushing defense in the Sun Belt conference last season, allowing 194.8 yards per game on the ground.

Louisiana Monroe only averaged 21.2 points per game last season and lost their top four rushers from their 2022 team. To make matters worse, their expected starting quarterback, Jiya Wright, hasn’t played in a CFB game since 2021 when he struggled immensely.

Pick: Army ML (-355)

Temple vs Akron

Another addition to our college football Week 1 parlay is the Temple moneyline in the team’s matchup with Akron of the MAC conference. The Zips are hoping for a turnaround in year two under Joe Moorehead, but it won’t be easy following a 2-10 campaign in 2022.

Temple’s passing game has the chance to be dynamic with sophomore quarterback E.J. Warner. who threw for over 3,000 yards last season. Defensively, the Owls’ biggest weakness in 2022 was their inability to stop the run. Fortunately, Akron had the worst rushing offense in the MAC last year.

Temple’s passing attack was 19th in the entire country last season and should torch an Akron secondary which was fourth-last in the MAC last season, allowing 162.4 yards per game through the air.

Pick: Temple ML (-355)

Washington State vs Colorado State

Concluding our Week 1 college football parlay is a moneyline play on the Cougars in the Washington vs Colorado State contest. The Cougars have the chance to make some noise in the Pac-12 this season after finishing 7-6 in 2022, including one-score losses to Oregon and Utah.

Quarterback Camerson Ward is back under center for WSU after throwing for over 3,000 yards last season with 23 touchdowns. He’ll find success against a Colorado State secondary that gave up an average of 191.3 yards per game in 2022.

With the experienced quarterback and offense the Cougars are returning, it’s hard to envision the Rams being able to keep pace. In the Mountain West conference, they only averaged 13.2 points per game last year. Leading RB Avery Morrow will also likely be rusty in his return from suspension.

Pick: Washington State ML (-425)

  • College Football Week 1 Parlay: Army, Temple & Washington State (+102)

College Football Week 1 Teaser Odds

Matchup Pick (Odds)

South Carolina vs North Carolina South Carolina +2.5 (Teaser +7.5)
TOTAL ODDS -104

College Football Week 1 Teaser Picks

In our Week 1 college football teaser, we’re teasing a couple of small underdogs with notable upset potential. By teasing both teams by five points, we get them at over a touchdown with plus-money value.

Houston vs UTSA

To begin our college football Week 1 teaser, we turn to the AAC where UTSA makes its conference debut against Houston. The Cougars are coming off an 8-5 campaign and face a Roadrunners squad coming off an 11-3 campaign in Conference USA.

The Cougars must overcome the loss of veteran quarterback Clayton Tune, but they do bring in Texas Tech QB Donovan Smith, who threw for 1,505 yards and 12 TDs with 8 interceptions last season. He’ll have two veteran receivers at his disposal in Sam Brown and Matthew Golden.

Houston has a strong chance of pulling the upset here, so including them in your CFB Week 1 teasers makes plenty of sense.  Houston’s passing attack was seventh in the nation last year and they face a UTSA secondary that ranked 89th. Not to mention, this matchup was a triple-overtime thriller last year.

Pick: Houston +6.5 Alternate Spread (-243)

South Carolina vs North Carolina

Our second pick in our college football Week 1 teaser is the South Carolina Gamecocks in their Saturday primetime matchup with the North Carolina Tar Heels.  After a strong conclusion to the 2022 campaign, former Heisman Trophy favorite Spencer Rattler should feast on what was the worst secondary in the ACC last season.

North Carolina enters this one on a four-game winning streak and are gaining hype due to the play of their quarterback Drake Maye. The UNC defense isn’t going to be able to get stops, however, and Maye might not get off to a flying start with the offseason losses of top receivers Josh Downs and Antonion Green.

When these schools last met in 2021, South Carolina knocked off the Tar Heels by a 38-21 score. Shane Beamer’s team has actually won seven of the past nine matchups in this rivalry, so teasing them over a touchdown in your CFB parlays is a great option.

Pick: South Carolina +7.5 Alternate Spread (-255)

  • College Football Week 1 Teaser: Houston +6.5 & South Carolina +7.5 (-104)
