Karen Khachanov vs Lorenzo Sonego
The 27-year old Russian will head into this match with a 2-1 head-to-head record against Sonego. But the two haven’t played each other since 2019. But the two have both been able to secure a win against each other on clay courts.
Both players have been tested in their first three matches of the Grand Slam. Khackanov dropped the first two sets of his opening round, to make it a must win set after must win set, until he finally managed to win the match. Whereas Sonego just went through that in his third round match, where he found himself down two sets against Andrey Rublev. He managed to upset the World No. 7 to earn a spot in the fourth round.

Expect there to be a lot of rallies in this match, as Khachanov and Sonego have similar styles of play. They have big serves and are strong from the baseline.
There’s a fair argument that plays into Khachanov being the favorite heading into Sunday’s match, and that’s his record on clay. Khachanov is 59-44 on the surface, while his opponent is just 45-42. That’s not to say Sonego won’t give Khachanov, expect him to at least take a set.
Best Bet: Khachanov 3-1 (+285)
Carlos Alcaraz vs Lorenzo Musetti
World No. 1 Alcaraz will take on Musetti for the second time in his career. Their one and only previous meeting came during the final of the German Open last year, where Musetti won. The match was actually played on an outside clay court, which is worth noting.
Alcaraz is coming off a strong win over Denis Shapovalov, where he won in straight set. The 20-year old has only dropped one set in his three matches he’s played so far. Musetti has had a hot start to his tournament, having not dropped a set en route to the fourth round. He upset Cameron Norrie in straight sets to win his third round match.

Once again, this is a matchup where both players have a similar style of play. And once again, the clay court record of both players is a strong thing to consider here too. Alcaraz is 62-13 on the surface, having won 23 of his 25 matches on clay this year, while Musetti is 42-25.
Alcaraz will also be looking to make up for his loss against Musetti last year. Look for him to win, but for Musetti to make it interesting.
Best Bet: Alcaraz 3-1 (+285)
Sebastian Ofner vs Stefanos Tsitsipas
Ofner has had himself a tournament so far, as he competed in the qualifying matches last week, and has made himself through the first three matches in the main draw. He most recently defeated Fabio Fognini 5-7, 6-3, 7-5, 1-6, 6-4, to earned his spot in the fourth round, and make it to the second week of the French Open for the first time in his career.
Tsitsipas has had an impressive first week in Paris. Most recently he defeated Diego Schwartzman in straight sets to book a spot in the fourth round. He’s now 20-6 at the French Open.
This match is Tsitsipas’ to lose. He’s the stronger player of the two, and should have more in the tank than Ofner, seeing that the Austrian has had to play a few more matches.
Best Bet: Tsitsipas 3-0 (-180)
