leicester city king power scaled

Midweek Championship action sees two of the top six go head-to-head on Monday as Norwich travel to the King Power to face Leicester, who dropped out of the top two for the first time since September on Friday.

Four defeats from their last six league games has seen Enzo Maresca’s men slip out of the automatic promotion places and their poor form could be set to continue against the Canaries.

Norwich have won four of their last five in the Championship and another victory here would see them keep a strong hold on the final play-off place, with David Wagner’s side leading the chasing pack by four points going into this meeting. Here is our Leicester vs Norwich prediction.

Leicester vs Norwich Tips

  • Norwich or draw Double Chance @ 6/5
  • Both Teams to Score @ 4/6

Team news

The Foxes will be without the injured trio of Kasey McAteer (hamstring), Ben Nelson and Tom Cannon (both leg), while there is good news in the middle of the park as Callum Doyle is available for selection after serving a one-match suspension.

Ricardo Pereira and Jamie Vardy picked up valuable minutes after recent returns from the treatment table and could feature in the lunchtime kick-off.

Norwich also have their fair share of injury concerns, with Cuban winger Onel Hernandez expected to be out for the remainder of the season with a foot injury.

Jonathan Rowe and Dimitris Giannoulis will also miss out on Monday’s fixture with hamstring problems, however there could be a start for Christian Fassnacht after he grabbed an assist in their 2-1 comeback victory over Plymouth last time out.

Match odds

Leicester are favourites to take all three points at 3/5 whereas Norwich are 18/5 to return to Norfolk with a victory.

The draw odds are 11/4 while Foxes striker Patson Daka is the most likely goalscorer at 7/5.

Norwich or draw Double Chance @ 6/5

The Foxes are on a rough run of form and recent games at the King Power have not brought much joy either with their last two home fixtures seeing consecutive defeats to Middlesbrough and QPR.

Leicester’s poor streak could open the door for a positive result for the Canaries, who are second in the Championship form table with four wins from their last five in the league.

Norwich’s recent exploits have also seen them lose just one fixture since the start of February and so they should be able to avoid defeat on Friday, with the double-chance market providing appealing odds of 6/5.

Both Teams to Score @ 4/6

Goals at both ends have been a regular theme at the King Power in recent weeks, with five of the last six Championship fixtures there seeing something to celebrate for both sets of fans.

Meanwhile, six of Norwich’s last eight away games in all competitions have seen winners in the bot teams to score market while the Canaries have failed to score in just one game on the road in 2024 and so an entertaining, goal-filled encounter should be expected.
