US-based healthcare technology firm MediKarma has introduced its new AI-based personalised health assistant,, which aims to disrupt the traditional healthcare paradigm. uses generative AI technology to provide users with personalised healthcare guidance, democratise information and empower them to take control of their health.

The assistant can retrieve information from health records and devices, answer health-related questions, offer personalised recommendations, conduct symptom triage, explain insurance and financial considerations and automate health routines, among other capabilities.

By consolidating data from various sources, creates a profile of the user’s health and generates MediScore, a dynamic health score.

The assistant also offers MediTwin, a visual representation of the user’s ‘digital twin’ to help them understand their health and any potential risks.

Patients can then use these to discuss targeted interventions with their healthcare team. has been trained on institutes such as the National Library of Medicine and the World Health Organisation (WHO).

The platform is claimed to prioritise data security and privacy, ensuring all information is stored in an encrypted, HIPAA-compliant digital enclave.
