Nottingham stages a Sunday flat meeting – 7 races, from 2.15pm – 5.15pm.
Not too many runners, a common theme at present, but some interesting fare nevertheless. Let’s see if we can spot a couple that can run well for us.
Nottingham Tips
At 3.15 we’ve a Fillies’ handicap over just in excess of a mile. Sean Woods has booked top jock Tom Marquand for his Mogwai, and I’m taking the hint, big-time.
This ex-French racer has shown definite ability and on her sole UK start came a very respectable running-on third, at Kempton (all-weather).
Admittedly excellent claimer Harry Davies gives way to Marquand, and he has few peers in the weighing room these days. Very hopeful.
30 minutes later at 3.45 we’re definitely interested in Point Lynas, in a warm Class 2 handicap. Again the trip is just over a mile, and this one ran a blinder at York last time off 2lb lower.
That last run at the Knavesmire was a career-best, and this for me is an improving 4-yr-old. A deserved win could be just around the corner, and seems versatile as far as ground goes.
Good luck to you, take care, and as always, have fun.
