On June 8th, African economies joined the world in marking World Oceans Day under the theme ‘Planet Ocean: Tides are changing. Africa, the second largest continent in the world by land mass and population, borders the Mediterranean Sea to the north, the Red Sea to the northeast, the Indian Ocean to the east, and the Atlantic Ocean to the west.
