- Seven-time world champion Ronnie O’Sullivan (+500) is a slight favorite to win the event for the eighth time in his career
- Mark Allen (+1200) is the reigning champion after capturing the tournament last year
- The UK Championship will take place at the York Barbican from November 25 to December 3, 2023
Held annually since 1977, the UK Championship is part of professional snooker’s Triple Crown Series, along with the invitational Masters and the World Snooker Championship.
2023 UK Championship
O’Sullivan is a legend
Ronnie O’Sullivan (+500) is one of only 11 players to complete a career Triple Crown. The Englishman has claimed the UK title a record seven times, but not since 2018. In April, O’Sullivan lost in the quarter-finals of the World Snooker Championship. He’s also won that event seven times, with recent victories in both 2020 and 2022.
Judd Trump (+600) has four career Triple Crown events, compared to O’Sullivan’s 21 championships. The 33-year-old won his second Masters title this year, but was bounced out of the first round of the 2023 World Snooker Championship.
“That’s the first time in my life where I thought, ‘You know what? I can play this game’.”

Robertson and Selby lurking
Neil Robertson (+600) is the only player from outside the UK to complete snooker’s Triple Crown. The Australian “Thunder from Down Under” has captured three career UK titles, most recently in 2020. He lost in round 2 of the World Championships in April, but claimed the Masters in 2022.
Mark Selby (+700) has nine Triple Crown titles, winning the UK Championship on two occasions. His semifinal victory over Mark Allen (17–15) in the 2023 World Snooker Championships lasted almost 14 hours. Unfortunately, he went on to lose the title to Luca Brecel 18-15.
Mark Allen (+1200) is one of the hottest snooker players on planet earth, winning the 2022 Northern Ireland Open, the 2022 UK Championship, and the 2023 World Grand Prix. He also made it all the way to the semifinal in the 2023 World Snooker Championships before losing a marathon match to Mark Selby.
Luca Brecel (+1400) is the reigning World Snooker Champion. The Belgian Bullet also reached his first Triple Crown final at the 2021 UK Championship, so he has had some success at this event.
“Shot of the season, definitely shot of this championship!” 😍

Ding Ding Ding
Ding Junhui (+1600) made it all the way to the finals at last year’s UK Championship after being ranked 38th in the world. The most successful Asian player in the history of snooker has won this tournament three times, so he can’t be counted out.
Si Jiahui (+3300) is an even better bet than his Chinese compatriot. The 20-year-old made it all the way to the semifinals of the 2023 World Snooker Championship in his debut. He lost to the eventual tournament winner Luca Brecel 15-17 after holding a 14-5 lead.

While rising star Si Jiahui is our favorite longshot at +3300, we’ll take the man from Northern Ireland, Mark Allen (+1200), to win his second-straight UK Championship.
