Spartanburg Regional breaks ground on Union Medical Center campus

Spartanburg Regional breaks ground on Union Medical Center campus

Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System has commenced construction on the new $55m Union Medical Center replacement facility in Union County, South Carolina, US.

The 99,600ft², three-storey facility aims to centralise physician practices, outpatient services, and inpatient care while prioritising patient-centeredness, accessibility, and high-quality care.

Once operational, the new campus is expected to offer a range of medical services, including emergency care, imaging, cancer centre infusion services, inpatient care, primary care, and more.

This new campus is located in the heart of Union County, providing convenient access for both residents and the local business community.

Its design includes open spaces, large windows, and natural accents, along with iconic photographs showcasing the hospital’s dedication to the community.

Moreover, the campus will feature a chapel and a healing garden at the entrance to welcome patients and guests.

Site preparation for the replacement facility commenced this year, and the construction process is expected to be completed by 2025.

Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System chief operating officer Mark Aycock said: “Union Medical Center is an integral part of the Spartanburg Regional family; breaking ground on this replacement hospital is an important milestone for our growing health system and for this community.”
