Stefon Diggs was a no-show at first day of Bills mandatory minicamp

Stefon Diggs was a no-show at first day of Bills mandatory minicamp

In the months ahead of the 2023 season, the Buffalo Bills find themselves dealing with a rising internal issue regarding star wide receiver Stefon Diggs.

The All-Pro wideout chose not to attend the first day of mandatory minicamp despite being in the practice facility earlier in the day. Pro Bowl quarterback Josh Allen voiced that it problem doesn’t lie with friction between him and Diggs, but rather it is more of a teamwork matter.

“I think we’re just, as an organization, maybe not communicating the right way with everything,” Allen said via ESPN. “So again, just trying to talk and listen at the same time and hear him out. And like I said, just try to move this forward as quickly and as respectfully as possible.”

There were signs of possible unhappiness from Diggs after last season’s home playoff loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. The star wideout reportedly left the locker room earlier and was brought back by teammates but then chose to abruptly leave again.

Since then, there have been rumors floating around that he isn’t exactly thrilled with how things are laid out in Buffalo. All that points to possible issues with Allen in terms of the offensive game plan.

The Bills hold significant importance regarding Diggs’ role within the passing game. He’s one of the game’s top offensive talents, and he’s recorded more than 100 receptions, 1,200 receiving yards, and eight touchdowns in each of his first three years in Buffalo.

The question becomes how much longer this will linger into the team’s offseason program.
