With a World Poker Tour (WPT) Prime Championship US$1,100 entry and hotel package at stake, over 100 entrants have descended upon the Crown Poker Club in Hanoi, Vietnam for Day 1B of the WPT Vietnam Passport to the World Championship Opener. The goal is to reach ITM and join the list of Day 2 qualifiers. Buy in is ₫11,000,000 (~US$ 450). Starting stack is 20,000 which is 200x the starting blinds. Levels go up every 40 minutes.
Among the familiar faces in attendance are Romain Morvan of France, who recently finished fifth in the WPT Australia Main Event, up-and-coming Indian grinder Sameer Agarwal, and local bet Nguyen Nang Quang, who was the runner-up at last night’s High-Roller Warm-Up event.
Following this flight, Day 1C starts at 4pm with registration closing at 7:50pm. A heavy turnout is also expected. This has a slightly faster structure with blinds increasing every 30 minutes.
For trophy hunters and for those that have secured their Day 2 spot, there is a Turbo event running starting at 7pm. Buy in is ₫6,600,000 (~US$ 270).
