Those are the words not of a big Manchester City fan about 52-goal Erling Haaland, but from as-red-as-they-come United cheerleader and legend – one Lou Macari.

And ex-City midfielder Michael Brown joined in the praise of the Norwegian superstar striker on the special Betfred TV historic all-Manchester FA Cup Final preview show.

Brown said Haaland had an aura about him from the moment he joined the Blues – and spoke of his mentality in going long periods in a game before waiting for his chance.

Ex-Celtic, United and Scottish international striker Macari was on more familiar ground hailing the rebirth of United’s newly crowned player of the year Marcus Rashford, who he reckons is the best hope of  the Reds scoring the Wembley opener.

While Macari thinks it may be United who ruin City’s chances of a treble, Brown is confident it will be a City triumph.

Brown did express concern about City players having one eye on next week’s Champions League final and stressed that City must not underestimate their opponents.

He didn’t think it was ideal prep for City at Brighton and Brentford – and pointed out that Pep Guardiola would have preferred momentum going into the final.

Macari summed up: “I hope United can rise to the occasion but man-for-man City have looked a bit better all season.”
