US-based Lake Regional Health System and healthcare company Medline have expanded their partnership through a new prime vendor agreement.

Under this agreement, Medline will serve as the provider of all medical and surgical supplies for Lake Regional Health System and its network of physician offices.

Lake Regional Health System supply chain strategy implementation officer Matt Mentel said: “Medline has a strong reputation in the industry for its logistics, supply chain capabilities and product availability,”

“When we switched to Medline for custom procedure trays, they provided seamless customer support and positive operational impact.

“That experience, combined with their reputation, reinforced that the decision was right for us.”

The collaboration began last year when Medline was named Lake Regional’s partner for surgical procedure trays.

After a longstanding relationship with a previous vendor, Lake Regional has now chosen Medline to fulfil all its medical and surgical supply needs.

The agreement also includes the use of Medline’s analytics platforms, allowing Lake Regional to monitor key metrics such as item utilisation, contract compliance, price accuracy, and expenditure by product categories.

Medline will cater to the health system’s facilities from its LEED-certified distribution centre in St. Peters, Missouri, which spans 800,000ft².
